IMORTED
We provide diamonds directly from Antwerp, Belgium. Solitaire only purchases finished diamonds; the rough diamonds that are cut and polished in Belgium are sourced from Africa, Canada, and Russia. Antwerp has sustained its status as the centre of the global diamond business for more than 5 centuries. Only registered diamond traders can import or export diamonds in Belgium.
ETHICAL
Solitaire Jewellery does not associate with conflict (blood) diamonds.
We believe that all of our clients need to be informed correctly about the diamonds they purchase. That is why we provide you with the best quality, internationally certified diamonds.
Our loose diamonds carry certificates from globally respected gemologists:
GIA (Gemological Institute of America),
HRD (Diamond High Council),

This helps ensure the diamond is responsibly sourced.
According to GIA, more than 70 governments worldwide have adopted the Kimberly Process into their national laws. As a result, more than 99% of the world’s diamonds come from conflict-free sources today
GUIDANCE
We build our jewellery in our shop and have all of our final pieces locally evaluated and certified for your insurance requirements.
Solitaire is a certified diamond grader. We are confident that we have the qualifications you are after because we specialize in loose diamonds and exceptional service.
We’re here to help you make informed and comfortable buying decisions based on solid information. The diamond you select is truly one of a kind in that there is not another one with the exact characteristics as yours.
Diamond quality is assessed on four characteristics.
These are CARAT (weight), COLOUR, CLARITY, and CUT - the 4 C’s.
While most people know to look at one or two of these, overlooking any will drastically reduce your diamond quality.
The characteristic most often overlooked is the most important: CUT.
Every diamond is cut and polished into 58 facets which are designed to capture and reflect light. As light enters a top facet it is bounced out another top facet.
A sloppy cut will bounce the light incorrectly and it‘ will escape unnoticed through the bottom or side of the stone.
The better the cut, the better it sparkles.
The traditional 58 facets in a round brilliant diamond, each precisely cut and defined, are as small as one millimeter in diameter. Without precision, a diamond wouldn’t be nearly as beautiful.
The attractiveness of a particular diamond depends more on cut than anything else.
The cut of any diamond is evaluated on three attributes: Brilliance (the total light reflected from a diamond), Fire (the dispersion of light into the colors of the spectrum), and Scintillation (the flashes of light, or sparkle, when a diamond is moved).
